Gospel sensation: Pastor Foluke Adeboye
Pastor Foluke Adenike Adeboye, also known as Mummy G.O., was born on July 13, 1948, into a family deeply rooted in the Methodist tradition. She is the eldest of ten children in the Adeyokunnu family, her father being a Methodist minister and her mother a trader.
Pastor Foluke Adeboye attended Methodist Girls Primary and Secondary Schools in Ilesha and later graduated from the United Missionary College (UMC) in Ibadan in 1966. She furthered her education with a diploma in Education from the University of Lagos, as well as additional training in Religious Studies and School Administration in the UK.
Married to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), she has been a steadfast support in his ministry. The couple married in 1967 and have four children who are also pastors. Pastor Foluke is known for her exceptional administrative, planning, and hospitality skills, and she has significantly contributed to the educational sector in Nigeria through initiatives like the Christ the Redeemer’s Schools Movement.
Ordained as a pastor in 1996, she has since held various leadership roles within RCCG, including President of the Redeemed Women Fellowship. She is also the founder of several welfare and educational programs, such as the African Missions, which promote the spread of the gospel and sustainable development across Africa.
Pastor Foluke Adeboye is celebrated for her dedication to the welfare of women and children, her involvement in numerous church activities, and her commitment to educational and social reformation projects.
